If asked to envisage Lancaster in 2065, I probably wouldn’t have predicted that we’d have blue pancakes that help the elderly, or that one of our local landmarks would have a King Kong-style attack.
As part of our evidence-gathering, the lead expert group and project team has engaged with a number of UK cities to hear directly from them about their views on the future.
Sir Mark Walport recently travelled to Manchester, Liverpool and Lancaster, accompanied by lead expert Rachel Cooper and the Future of Cities team, to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by the cities in the coming decades.
